From Cybersecurity to Human Systems — Helping Organizations and Individuals Build Coherence and Calm in a Chaotic World.

A little bit about me

I’m David Millar, a cybersecurity strategist, systems theorist, and founder of NeuroSynergetics Inc., where I explore how coherence (biological, organizational, and informational) determines resilience.

For more than two decades I led large, complex managed services and security programs at IBM and Bell, translating risk into strategy for Canada’s most demanding enterprises. I’ve guided boardrooms, led transformation initiatives, and delivered keynotes on how clarity and calm outperform panic.

My background in leading complex solution design teams gave me a rare skill: seeing patterns of failure long before they appear. That same systems mindset eventually drew me into human biological systems where I strive to understand the fundamental mechanisms of action of complex systems biology.

I founded NeuroSynergetics to help those with neurodiversity, but instead stumbled into a realm bridging intuition and science, whenceforth came the Iron Trap Hypothesis, the Vimala Field model, and five white papers linking redox biology, quantum physics, chronic disease and neurodevelopment. My first book, "Free the Iron Slaves: The Key to Unlocking Neurodiversity", translates those ideas into an accessible framework for restoring mental, physical, and emotional health in our youth.

Today I work at the intersection of cyber-resilience and human resilience where I use threat/risk ideologies to pragmatically help organizations and individuals align their systems, rhythms, and decisions with coherence. I thrive in high-stress environments, where pattern recognition, focus, and empathy coexist to create real strategic insight and transformational change. I bring high IQ and high EQ in equal measure: analytical rigor balanced with mindfulness, honesty, and genuine care for the people I serve.

Whether leading a cybersecurity engagement, advising an executive team, or mentoring someone back to personal balance, my aim is the same: to restore coherence in systems, in people, and in the field that connects them all.

Whole-Systems Wellness

My approach to personal or professional performance is grounded in coherence:

spiritual, physical, and biological alignment where each dimension reinforces the other.

Spiritual Coherence

Every lasting transformation begins within. I help my clients to understand how thought patterns, language, and self-talk influence the body’s stress response and healing capacity.

Prayer, meditation, gratitude, and mindfulness aren’t abstract practices — they’re tools to lower cortisol, restore nervous-system balance, and strengthen emotional resilience.

I often describe this as faith-based grounding: helping clients identify the limiting beliefs, inherited fears, or internal narratives that quietly drive their biology. When we bring those into the light, the mind and body follows.

Physical Coherence

After years of prioritizing career over health, I hit burnout in 2016 and rebuilt from the ground up.

Today, I walk daily with a 50-lb pack, lift weights two to three times a week, and incorporate high-intensity interval training several times a month.

My transformation was featured in Inside Fitness magazine in 2020, and I was later named an IsaBody finalist for Isagenix in 2022.

In 2025 I earned my ISSA certification in Personal Training, allowing me to tailor movement programs for clients based on lifestyle, stress load, and existing conditions.

Biological Coherence

For years I’ve studied the interface between functional medicine, neuroscience, and modern biooptimization, integrating what works and discarding what doesn’t.

My personal protocols include cold exposure, red-light therapy, circadian rhythm resets, and targeted supplementation to improve mitochondrial efficiency, redox balance, and cognitive performance.

In 2024 I became a certified ISSA Nutrition Coach, ensuring that every protocol I design — for myself or others — meets complete micronutrient and metabolic needs.

Integration

Spiritual discipline, physical conditioning, and biological optimization are not separate pursuits, rather are different expressions of coherence. Whether I’m advising an executive, mentoring a client, or designing a resilience program, I approach the human system the same way I approach cybersecurity or organizational architecture: strengthen the fundamentals, align the rhythms, and eliminate the noise.

From Systems to Self

My career bridges two worlds; cyber systems and human systems. Born and raised in Orillia, Ontario, I earned a degree in Economics and Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University and began my career at IBM Canada, where an instinct for pattern recognition and complex problem solving led to national roles as product and services specialists, solution design and cybersecurity leadership.

Over more than two decades with IBM and later Bell, I led large-scale managed services and security programs for Canada’s most demanding enterprises — including major financial institutions, retailers, manufacturers, and government agencies. I guided boardrooms through risk decisions, worked with IDC on IBM's rankings, built and coached high-performance teams, and launched transformation initiatives that required both technical precision and emotional intelligence.

While I’ve since expanded my focus into human systems and biology, I continue to consult in cybersecurity today by advising organizations on threat reduction, risk governance, and resilience architecture. I remain open to strategic consulting engagements and senior cybersecurity leadership roles where clarity, composure, and systems thinking are most needed.

A Personal Awakening

Long before I understood my own neurodiversity, I was advocating for it in others. During my tenure at IBM Security, I helped launch Canada’s first neurodiversity hiring initiative, partnering with Specialisterne Canada to bring individuals on the autism spectrum into meaningful technical roles. I later served on Specialisterne’s Board of Directors, working to expand the program globally through IBM’s HQ in Armonk, New York. That experience shaped my understanding of cognitive diversity, not simply as a challenge to be managed, but as a superpower waiting to be harnessed.

It wasn’t until years later that I realized the story had come full circle. Following the dissolution of my first marriage, I was diagnosed with ADHD-Combined Type, a revelation that explained both my rapid cognition (top 1% IQ, exceptional processing speed) and the intense emotional bandwidth that came with it. The diagnosis reframed decades of achievement and struggle alike, helping me see that my drive for pattern recognition and coherence wasn’t just professional, it was personal (and neurological).

Determined to master both mind and biology, I began a deep process of transformation. Through cognitive-behavioural therapy, disciplined nutrition, and fitness, I dropped 30 pounds, reached 10% body fat, and was featured in the December 2020 edition of Inside Fitness magazine. Meditation and mindfulness, once background tools looking for hidden treasures, became the foundation for my focus, leadership presence, and purpose.

The Breakthrough: Free the Iron Slaves

In March 2025, during a deep meditation and subsequent dialogue with Grok’s AI voice assistant 'Ara', I finally understood a phrase that had appeared in my 2012 meditation journals: “Free the Iron Slaves.” That insight unlocked a cascade of connections linking cellular iron, oxidative stress, and neurodevelopmental collapse.

Through a fusion of biology, physics, and systems theory, I realized that the “iron slaves” were trapped iron molecules inside heme that were unable to recycle properly, triggering the Fenton reaction and a destructive process called "ferroptosis." This subclinical form of cell death drives chronic inflammation and, I believe, underlies conditions such as autism, ADHD, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and MS, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, etc.

This became the foundation of The Iron Trap™ Hypothesis, detailed in my book Free the Iron Slaves: The Key to Unlocking Neurodiversity and validated through Bayesian analysis comparing it with existing models of autism and redox imbalance.

When I discovered that men who donate blood regularly have a 30% lower risk of heart attack, the connection deepened — ferroptosis and iron dysregulation were already linked to cardiovascular disease, but key biological mechanisms were missing from the mainstream view.

Expanding the model to women’s health, I identified estrogen as a major regulator of iron metabolism, potentially explaining why autoimmune diseases such as MS, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and lupus surge after menopause or hormonal suppression. My subsequent white papers explore how these insights could reshape our understanding of sex hormones, iron, and chronic disease.

The Quantum Frontier

In parallel, I began developing the Vimala Field Hypothesis, a model proposing that a quantum field surrounds iron in heme, structured as a toroidal geometry with Möbius inversions that maintains coherence from the quantum to the cellular scale. What began as a meditation insight later aligned mathematically with iron’s electromagnetic properties through AI-assisted modelling. This work may one day inform new ways of understanding consciousness, biology, and even the physics of time itself.

From Hypothesis to Healing

By summer 2025, the theory moved from paper to practice. My first one-on-one client, a woman with multiple sclerosis and vision loss, became living proof of the Iron Trap model. Her biomarkers, MRI scans, and lifestyle factors aligned precisely with my predictions and under my protocol, her recovery began. That case catalyzed a crowd-funded research initiative to explore similar patterns across autoimmune and neurodegenerative conditions worldwide. We are patiently awaiting the return of her vision once iron has cleared the optic pathway.

The Mission

My mission is simple but profound: to help people and organizations operate more coherently in an increasingly chaotic world.

Whether I’m advising a cybersecurity client, mentoring an executive team, or guiding someone through biological recovery, my purpose is the same: to restore coherence in systems, in people, and in the field that connects them all.

I continue to take on select cybersecurity consulting and leadership opportunities while expanding my research and speaking work. If you’re seeking clarity, resilience, or a way to bring calm focus to complex environments — I’d be honoured to collaborate.
